Who Says You Can’t Travel And Study At The Same Time?

It’s normal to want to experience as much of the world as possible, but sometimes your responsibilities can get in the way. From work to studying, there are a lot of things that can hold you back from experiencing everything travel has to offer. Yes, you can wait until after your studies are over, but why should you have to? Believe it or not, there are ways to fit in travel around your studies to help you experience the best of both worlds.

Need some convincing? Here are some suggestions for how you can make it work for you.

Travel during your breaks

The saying goes ‘work hard, play hard’ and if you want to reward yourself for hard work during your studies, why not travel during your breaks? Uni students are blessed with some pretty lengthy holidays, so you can spend a decent chunk of time travelling over the summer or your Christmas holidays. The prospect of travel during your holidays is good motivation to work hard during term time, giving you something to look forward to when it’s all over.

Study anywhere in the world

The beauty of distance learning is that you can do it anytime, anywhere. Not only does distance learning allow you to pursue worthwhile degrees like online social worker degrees, but you can do it at a time and pace that suits you. Why not aim to complete a degree while you’re travelling? Working from the beach or from a cool cosmopolitan cafe definitely seems more appealing than being hunched over a desk in a university hall!

Do some of your degree abroad

Student exchange programmes are very popular at university. Many universities have great exchange programmes which allow you to spend a term or even a year studying in a different country. There are a lot of benefits that come with studying abroad, and you’ll get to use your weekends and recesses to explore the local area. It’s worth considering if you want to enjoy a different student experience!

Plan short breaks to scratch the itch

Who says you have to travel for months on end to enjoy the jet-setting lifestyle? Even a weekend break can be a good way to explore different countries without impacting your studies. Use flight booking hacks to save money on travel, and you could be in top spots in Europe cheaper than what a train would cost you in the UK. Regular adventures will scratch the travel itch until you finish your studies and can travel for an extended period.

Has all this talk of travel got you thinking ‘where next’? Take a look at some travel inspiration to help you plan your next trip. It’s easier than you think to juggle your studies and travel, so if you want to enjoy both then you should go for it. Anything’s possible with a bit of determination, but don’t let your love for exploring come at the cost of your education.
