Thinking About Revamping Your Home? Where To Find Ideas And Inspiration

Have you fallen out of love with your living room, or are you eager to breathe new life into your kitchen? If you’re thinking about revamping your home, it’s hugely beneficial to explore ideas and look for inspiration before you make any decisions. Here are some steps to take before you grab your paintbrushes or start ordering new curtains or cushion covers.

Use your own personal experiences

Most of us will have been to a hotel, a restaurant, a shop or even somebody else’s home and fallen head over heels for a piece of furniture, a wallpaper print or even the overall aesthetic of a room. Use your own personal experiences to conjure up ideas for your home. You can take elements of different trends and aspects of various designs to combine trends and create different looks for your living spaces and bedrooms. If you are planning a project, it’s useful to take photographs and to use images from websites and online galleries to trigger your memory and get a more accurate picture of the design features you love.

Think about style and functionality

Designing a home isn’t just about creating stunning interiors. Your home also has to be practical and functional. When you’re putting plans together and thinking about how you want different rooms to look, consider the purpose of the space and make sure your ideas fit in with your lifestyle. One of the most important decisions to make is how to pick the right flooring to match your home design. If you’re replacing old flooring, it’s wise to invest in a flooring type that ticks the style and the substance boxes. You want your floor to enhance the aesthetic of the room, but if you have kids or pets, you also want to ensure that your floor is easy to clean and that it will stand the test of time. It’s also crucial to bear practical considerations in mind when selecting furniture. If you have a home office, for example, comfort is key. Cool, modern, brightly-coloured plastic chairs may look great, but they will soon lose their appeal if you spend hours sitting at your desk every day.

Collect images and ideas to create your own unique design

Some of us are naturally gifted when it comes to turning a blank canvas into a creative masterpiece, but many people find it difficult to come up with ideas and create a vision for their home interiors. If you don’t know exactly what you want, look for inspiration and take ideas from others. You can use sites like Pinterest and social media networks, browse interior design magazines, search for features or concepts you love online or visit showrooms and home stores to get the cogs turning. The beauty of revamping your home is that you can take suggestions and inspiration from others and put your own spin on the design to create unique spaces.

Thanks for sharing all this great information. I am challenged when it comes to color, design, etc.

Hi Hayley, I have been flying for almost 16 years and for three different Airlines.
Currently the Aviation Industry has taken a tough knock with Covid-19 at the forefront.
I’m still with my current Airline and have done repatriation flights with all necessary levels of PPEs in place ,which does make OUR position as Cabin Crew somewhat difficult , yet certainly more rewarding than ever before. Having the ability to make a difference ,no matter how small or large, for the Pax and reuniting them with loved ones and family .
My question to you is; Which ,IF ANY, Airlines are looking for Cabin Crew ?
