8 Excellent Reasons to Move to the UK

If you’re considering moving to another country but aren’t sure where to go, look no further than the United Kingdom. As a nation, it’s an incredibly popular destination for expats around the world, and 677,000 people migrated here in the last year alone.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re moving temporarily or have indefinite leave to remain UK status. Nor does it matter whether you’re moving for work, study, retirement or for any other reason: the UK has so many pleasures for you to enjoy. To help you make your decision, here are eight excellent reasons to make this beautiful island nation your next home.

Culture

The United Kingdom is one of the best places in the world for art and culture, home to some of the finest art galleries, museums, and theatres in existence. The cinema and music industry is huge, with all kinds of international exports such as James Bond and Ed Sheeran. We’ve produced some of the greatest artists and musicians in history, and each of the four countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) has its own unique cultural heritage.

Diversity

The UK is one of the most multicultural countries in the world, and welcomes expats from all across the globe. Diversity and tolerance are some of the key pillars of British society, and you will have no problem fitting in. And if you miss your home country, wherever you hail from, you will be able to find a community of like-minded expats.

Free healthcare

Not all countries offer free healthcare, but residents of the UK are fortunate enough to have this luxury. Not only this, but the UK boasts some of the best hospitals and medical institutions in the world.

Education

If you are travelling to study, then there is no destination more perfect. Some of the most prestigious universities and schools are to be found in the UK, and students from countries worldwide travel to England to study in educational establishments like Oxford and Cambridge.

Stunning landscapes

The UK is not just cities and motorways. It also offers visitors some of the most spectacular landscapes you’ll ever see. The remote Scottish Cairngorms and the mountains of Snowdonia in Wales are breathtaking, and when you’re walking amongst this natural beauty it’s hard to believe you’re still in the United Kingdom.

Employment

If it’s a job you’re after, then you’ll have no trouble finding employment once you move here. Industry stretches across the entire country, and there is no shortage of demand for skilled workers.

The food

The UK sometimes gets a bad reputation when it comes to food, but British cooking is famous for its quality, and we’ve produced some of the best-loved dishes in culinary history. Fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and chicken tikka masala are all British creations, and tourists flock to our famous world-famous pubs for craft ales and home-cooked food.

The people

Whether English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish, the people of the UK are known for their friendliness and hospitality. Not to mention their sarcasm and dry sense of humour. Get to know some of the locals, and you’ll soon become firm friends for life.

Whatever you are looking for in your next home, you will find it in the UK. It’s a beautiful country with a lot to offer, and once you make this decision you won’t look back. Start packing your bags now!
